Capitals Travel Hockey

The Columbus Capitals the premier Tier 2 hockey program from 10U-14U. Columbus Capitals Hockey Teams have options of playing in The Little Caesar's Hockey League, The Buckeye Travel League, The Metro Columbus Travel Hockey League, or play highly competitive Independant schedules.

Commitment and Expectations

  • Players that sign up for and attend tryouts will receive email updates from CAHA
  • Players receiving an offer will have 24 hours to respond in order to secure a spot
  • Some players may be asked after tryout 1 to report to tryout 3
  • Players not selected for the top team after tryout 2 will be asked to return for tryout 3


The Capitals season runs from September through March. Exact dates are determined by your team schedule and ice availability.

Where we call Home

The Columbus Capitals practice and play at Chiller North and Taft Coliseum. The Capitals also have a partnership with Battery Hockey Academy for additional ice time and training


The Columbus Capitals will practice twice a week. This is subject to sometimes change pending travel for tournaments. Players are EXPECTED to attend all practices; on and off ice


Fees to play hockey for the Capitals will be paid monthly from August - February and range from $300-$365/month pending your players age group.

Fees do NOT include jerseys, equipment or travel-related expenses such as gas, food, lodging, etc.


Every Columbus Capitals team will play 40-60 games depending on the age group and agreement between the organization, parents and coaches.

Every team will participate in 3-4 tournaments throughout the season.

CAHA will work with every team manager and coach to ensure proper competition throughout the year. We strive to have .500 seasons so we are challenging our players while seeing success.


The Columbus Capitals play and look sharp. All players will be required to have navy helmets and pants as well as navy/white/red gloves.

Our players will be required to wear their team Adidas track suits to every game. Capitals winter jackets will be optional for cold weather events.

All players will also receive Capitals shorts and t-shirts for warming up.

Capitals Hockey bags will also be required.


The Columbus Capitals have some of the best coaches in Central Ohio assigned to our teams with many of them playing at the AAA, Juniors, College, and Professional ranks.

To assist in our program, we be working with a Director of Player Development at each age group to ensure top level development of our players and coaches.

The Capitals also have partnerships with Reid Robertson (Goaltending), Lee Harris (Power Skating), and many more skills coaches that will be working with our players during the season


All 2023-2024 Rosters have been finalized and the season will begin September 2023
